ABOUT THE PROJECT
High Speed 2 (HS2) is Britain’s largest infrastructure project, involving the construction of major structures such as 32 miles of tunnels, embankments, cuttings, bridges, and viaducts. This new high-speed railway will connect London and Birmingham, prioritizing passenger needs with more reliable, faster, and frequent services.
Reliable is delivering works on both the Balfour Beatty Vinci (BBV) and the Eiffage Kier Ferrovial BAM (EKFB) sections of the project.
Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV) is working with a range of organisations to design and build the 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 – Britain’s new high-speed railway. Their work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey via the existing rail network to destinations including Manchester.
At BBV, Reliable Construction is providing a range of skilled operatives to support the Balfour Beatty Vinci joint venture in the delivery of the N1 and N2 sections of HS2. The scope of work for N1 and N2 includes earthworks, ground engineering, viaducts, and tunnels along a 90 km stretch.
Throughout the contract, we are supplying specialized civil operatives, plant operators, and supervisors, including carpenters, steel fixers, groundworkers, concrete crews and pump operators, specialist fitters and fabricators, and Electricians.
EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market-leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction, and BAM Nuttall.
All four partners bring specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including some of Europe’s largest high-speed rail projects. They have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high-speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.
On the EKFB section of HS2, Reliable Construction is assisting the Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial, and BAM Nuttall joint venture in the execution of civil engineering works across an 80 km section of the new high-speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. The scope of the C2 and C3 works includes 15 viaducts, 6.9 km of green tunnels, 22 km of road diversions, 81 bridges, and approximately 30 million cubic meters of excavation. Excavation works are already underway in preparation for the full project delivery.
