TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

At Reliable Contractors Limited, all our operatives are directly employed under PAYE.

Our commitment to ongoing training and development is what distinguishes us from our competitors and has established us as the premier contingency labour supplier for major infrastructure projects.

Over the years, we have provided
a diverse array of apprenticeship frameworks for our workforce.

APPRENTICESHIPS

The introduction of the new apprenticeship funding system in 2017 has significantly transformed both the process and delivery of the apprenticeship model.

To effectively support the Government’s initiative to create an additional 3 million apprenticeships by 2020, we have partnered with an approved apprenticeship training provider. This collaboration enhances our recruitment of new apprentices and offers unique on-site training designed to develop the skills of our existing staff

The Training Process

Training equips every employee with the knowledge and skills needed to work safely and without risk to health. We believe it is our responsibility to provide each employee with training relevant to their job role. Reliable collaborates closely with clients to identify specific training needs and delivers various nationally recognized training programs, not only for our employees but for any personnel in line with site requirements.

We are dedicated to the development of all our employees, offering an extensive range of formal and informal training programs. While we recognize the value of hiring staff who already hold relevant certifications or licenses, we also prioritize the training and development of our existing workforce by registering them for HSE testing and CSCS/CPCS training and carding. Our training matrix identifies skills requirements and potential shortages relevant to specific projects. We engage in discussions with project teams in advance to prepare and upskill workers, addressing any skills shortages proactively.

All site training includes an element of HSE awareness, ensuring that the demands of the job remain within the capabilities of our staff to carry out their work safely.

We provide our employees with both formal and informal training opportunities:

includes induction training and any specialized or legislative training necessary for the operation of plant and safe systems of work.

consists of news briefings and toolbox talks to ensure that staff members are well-informed about relevant work processes and methods.

We firmly believe that ongoing investment in our workforce significantly enhances overall safety, communication, well-being, motivation, and morale. This commitment is essential for candidate retention and is a key reason why Reliable Contractors is chosen for some of the largest construction projects in the country.
