Father and Son Steel Fixing Team Michael and Luke Anderson
Michael and Luke Anderson from Doncaster, started on the Transpennine Route Upgrade Feb 2025 they are a Father and Son Steel Fixing Team. Michael, started out over 30 years ago he was only 14 years old when he started on the M40 Birmingham with his Father. Michael comes from a large family all are Steel Fixers.

Luke followed Michael into Steel Fixing at age 16, he was taught how to tie and read drawings before stating out at age 15. Michael and Luke have always worked together on large projects and come from a very large steel Fixing family.
There was a bit of battle within the family as to who would receive Michael’s dad tools and Luke was the lucky recipient in the end and proudly uses these tools daily and carries them on his grandfather’s belt which he also inherited.
Already Michael and Luke have completed a PTS course and are attending a MEWP 3a and 3b course this week as there is a lot of work to be done on the bridges on the project.
Reliable Contractors are proud to be embracing Father and Son Teams on the project and hopefully working with many more Father and Son Teams in the Future.
