Women In Construction Awards 2026

Last week, members of the Reliable Contractors team were delighted to attend the Design & Build UK Women in Construction Awards in London, an evening celebrating the achievements, talent and contributions of women across the construction industry. We were incredibly proud to be named finalists in the Inclusive Company Award category, recognising the importance of creating an inclusive workplace and supporting greater opportunities for women across our industry. It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate alongside so many inspiring individuals and organisations who are helping to shape a more inclusive future for construction.

Our Director of Civils, Lee McEvoy, helped kick off the evening by joining a panel of previous award winners, sharing his experiences, insights and advice with attendees. Having previously won the Male Ally Award two years ago, Lee understands the importance of actively championing women, challenging barriers and encouraging greater equality across the industry. We were also proud to see our Communications Manager, Amelia, take to the stage to present the first award of the evening, the On The Tools Award, as part of her involvement with the Women in Construction South East Hub committee. This is a particularly important category, recognising women working in hands-on, site-based roles who are challenging stereotypes, breaking down barriers and showing that construction is an industry for everyone.

It was a brilliant evening and a great reminder of the talent, determination and positive change happening across our industry. At Reliable Contractors, we are proud to support initiatives that champion women, encourage greater representation and create opportunities for the next generation. Congratulations to all the winners and finalists, and thank you to everyone involved in organising such an inspiring event. We look forward to continuing to play our part in supporting women in construction.
