Victoria Station Upgrade

Reliable Contractors have been working on the upgrade of Victoria Station for over ten years. The station is the fourth busiest tube station in London and has been serving more than 82 million customer journeys each year, linking major rail routes to the south of London with the Victoria, District and Circle lines. The modernisation of the station, which has been done in stages, will double in size, ease congestion for customers and provide step-free access.
All aspects of Civil Engineering trades have been involved with this outstandingly complex scheme which has demanded intense stakeholder and neighbourhood management. Our Contract Managers have been driving health and safety tool box talks regularly to protect our employees, our supply chain partners and the public. We believe a safe and healthy workplace is also a happier, more motivated and more efficient place for all parties concerned and is a strong differentiator for us as an employer supporting the best talent in the industry. Our work has included the following: • New northern ticket hall (30,000m³ top-down construction) which opened in January 2017 with a new station entrance on Bressenden Place • 50% enlargement of existing south ticket hall (13,000m³ top-down construction) Which opened in January 2018 • 400m of connecting tunnels between ticket halls • Station modernisation, including 9 new escalators and 7 new lifts to provide step free access from street level to platforms Once again this has demonstrated Reliable Contractors fundamental strength in working seamlessly with our Joint Venture partners.
