Crossrail Systemwide C610

Reliable started on the ATC C610 Systemwide project in December 2014 and our journey has now taken us across the whole of the Crossrail route - from Royal Oak Common, through Pudding Lane all the way to Plumstead. Systemwide C610 has been one of the final and largest Crossrail packages to be let and Reliable have supplied an extensive range of Skilled Operatives and Supervisors throughout this time. It is fair to say that our involvement with this prestigious project has been Instrumental in our social sustainability journey engaging local business partners in the provision of under- represented minority groups including Women into Construction, Prince’s Trust and BuildForce. We have worked extensively with job brokerages focusing on local labour in the surrounding areas to ensure a robust legacy is left throughout the whole of the Crossrail route and our apprentices have been given a wide breadth of scope and opportunity to complete their learning pathways. Our Contract Managers have been Mental Health First Aid certified (MHFA) which has given them in depth skills to provide first aid to our workers on site who may be experiencing mental health issues. More recently we have partnered with The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) an award-winning charity dedicated to preventing male suicides – this has enabled us to offer our workers mental health support 365 days a year via their crisis helpline, webchat and website. The scope of our work has been varied including: Multi-Purpose Gantry Operators, Locomotive Operators and Shunter Drivers responsible for directing and transporting material and tradesmen through the tunnels Specialist Fitter/Fabricators for overseeing all maintenance of the plant used project wide, and the fabrication required at the sites discretion. Yard Masters, General and Section Foreman who are all involved in controlling works across all sites. In addition, all Reliable employees are given the opportunity to be upskilled with various NVQ’s, Management courses and Track Safety courses all of which has been duly recognised by Costain through a continual stream of ‘Costain Blue’ awards measuring the standard of our people, our safety, the quality of our work. Reliable’s team contribution has helped to ensure works are completed successfully to enable Crossrail trains to operate safely and efficiently from December 2018.
